I should probably stop trying to write these blog posts in the early A.Ms of the day, but hey, it’s a thing I guess.
In the past few months I’ve started going out for walks on the weekend along the dyke and the riverbank. The benefits of going for a walk has been nothing but pleasant, in fact, I would say it’s not just a two bird one stone situation, the benefits are a kill multiple birds with one stone situation.
Ever since graduating university I haven’t taken quite as many pictures as I used to, whether it’s due to lack of energy, time, or passion, going out to take pictures become somewhat of an afterthought these days. But going on walks and bringing the cameras has allowed me to get back into the swing of things, dogs, mountains, water droplets on leaves, deer, squirrels, there are so many things to snap! I could go on and on about the random little moments I’ve captured but I think that will be a whole other post.

And then there’s the best part, spending time with my parent and not worrying about the future. Being able to just admire nature and be in the presence of family whilst soaking in the quietness that seems to be all but absent in daily life genuinely heals the soul. It’s all too easy to forget what life can really be about when work can make the day to days all meld together in a week, and it’s these moments that help us remind ourselves what is truly important.
Aside from meeting a variety of the furry two eyed four legged friends, it’s nice to be able to just smile, say hi, and interact with strangers. Moments like when a stranger says “Hi, happy new year!”, or when they someone goes out of their way to get their dog to look at the camera. The little pleasantries in life go a long way.
Anyways, I hope whoever is reading this that you can take the time to do the same and go for some walks!
